Our Services

Refinition provides services that help application developers, publishers, advertisers, marketers, and other companies/organizations to learn about their users and customers, based on anonymized geolocation data (herein referred to as our “Services”). Our data helps advertisers and marketers to market in more relevant ways to consumers, including their own customers. To provide our Services, we may, for instance, create data sets from location data derived from Users’ devices and anonymize them prior to use. We may then use these data sets to help marketers improve or better target their ads to Users. Similarly, these data sets helps applications and services learn more about their users and helps our customers to tie their likely (anonymous and/or aggregated) audiences to those places.

To perform our Services, we may partner with other parties, such as advertising agencies, brands, media platforms, publishers (such as app developers), and other advertising platforms (collectively, our “Partners”). These Partners may help us to enhance our data sets or to deploy our data in a way that helps our customers, such as marketers or app publishers.

We may collect or obtain information relating to you in a variety of ways. Such information may include personal information (i.e., information that identifies, relates to, describes, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular individual or household. We generally do not seek personal information that may be considered “sensitive” (e.g., government-issued identification numbers as well as information related to an individual’s racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or other beliefs, health conditions, criminal background, or sexual orientation/sex life), and we ask that individuals not provide such information on or through this Website.

We may combine personal information that we collect (as described above) with information from other sources, and we will use the combined information only for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

The California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) provides California residents with certain rights. Pursuant to the CCPA, we are providing the following additional details regarding the categories of personal information about California residents that we collect, use, and disclose.

We have collected the following categories of personal information from California residents within the last twelve (12) months:

  • Identifiers, such as name, IP address, email address, or another similar identifier.

      • disclosures for a business purpose, identifying the personal information categories that each category of recipient obtained.
  • delete the personal information we collected from you.

We will not discriminate against you if you decide to exercise your rights under the CCPA.

If you authorize a natural person or business entity to submit a request on your behalf (an “Authorized Agent”), the Authorized Agent may use the submission method noted above. As part of our verification process, we will require proof concerning their status as an Authorized Agent, which may include proof of their registration with the California Secretary of State to conduct business in California and/or proof that they have power of attorney in accordance with California probate law. We may also require you to verify your identity directly with us or directly confirm with us that you provided the agent with permission to submit the request.

Personal information “sales” opt-out right

Under the CCPA, some of the personal information disclosures described above may be considered a “sale.” If you are a California resident who is 16 years of age or older, you have the right to direct us to not “sell” your personal information at any time. As Authorized Agent may also use the methods described above to submit a request to opt out on your behalf if you provide the agent with the signed permission to do so.

Information Security

Refinition uses physical, managerial, and technical safeguards to preserve the integrity and security of your personal information. We cannot, however, ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to Refinition, and you do so at your own risk. There is no guarantee that any information you provide will not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.

Children’s Privacy

Refinition understands the importance of protecting the privacy of children. This Website is not designed for or intentionally directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have received personal information from an individual under the age of 13, we will take reasonable steps to delete such information from our records.

Information Retention

We will retain your personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or allowed under law.
